Our Swiss Business first brainstorming event was a success!
Participants, originally from seven different countries (Australia, Germany, Latvia, Nigeria, South Africa, Switzerland, and USA) and now living in or around Bern and Zurich, included a mix of women with a small running business, women with a well-defined business idea, and women looking for business ideas. Each participant could benefit from a 30 minutes brainstorming session on her business case facilitated by Gretel and a 30 minutes consultancy session with our partner Beatrice Wespi.
We discussed business ideas and business development strategies in the areas of food and beverages (home-made sweeties and exotic wines), tourism (new hotel concepts and trip planning services), event management (wedding planning), wellbeing (massage services for companies and a wellbeing centre), and marketing and branding services for companies.
The location, Urban Fish co-working space in the centre of Bern, was just perfect. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, but we worked hard and with a strict time management to make sure that each participant could get all the feedback that she deserved. We also enjoyed nice networking moments during the coffee breaks.

How can we improve future events?
“Allow time for open questions among participants, as the unplanned can have fruit baring potential”
“It would be great to receive brief description of businesses and topics that will be discussed before the brainstorming.”
“Maybe talk more about how to overcome the weaknesses (of my business idea) identified during the brainstorming”
Thank you for your feedback!!
